Free the nip by Laura Ogden

I have two heavy chains hanging from my chest –
two fleshy manacles clamped.
Everyone watches them swing as I walk by.
I shuffle along, bent double,
my spine curvy like the ideal woman.
I used to want to pull them off, so no one would look at me
and label me prisoner.
But now I just want to stand up straight,
and have my naked nipples stick out like a man’s,
uncovered
and
uncensored
and still be looked in the eye.
